I wanted to live on my own, ideally in the centre or the west of Den Bosch. When I came across this flat, I was immediately enthusiastic about the location: close to the centre, my family and my work. I thought the rent was on the high side, but given the shortage on the housing market I decided to go ahead anyway.

I had mixed feelings about it. The flat is small, 23 m², with no storage room, bicycle shed or outdoor space, which meant the rent was actually far too high. Still, it almost felt as if I had no choice: if I let this one go, I wouldn’t find anything else in the short term.
