My move to Eindhoven for a new job created a desperate search for housing. When I finally found a place, I agreed to the rent without knowing at the time that it was overpriced. The living conditions were generally alright, but the rent was quite high for what I was getting. I always had the underlying feeling I was paying too much compared to the space and quality of the place, and it’s a difficult feeling to constantly wonder if you’re being overcharged.
