Ivan and his girlfriend Ecaterina were already about to move out of their apartment in Eindhoven—a cold, damp place that cost €1,250 a month and where something was always breaking—when they found Huurfix. Jan took over the case, and two months later they had €10,000 back. "We're now planning our trip to Japan with the money we got back!"

Eindhoven

My partner and I were both students and were looking for a place to live in Eindhoven after returning from our minor program in The Hague. Since landlords are quite skeptical about renting to students, and the housing crisis was already at its peak at the time, we jumped at the first apartment that came up.

The house was absolutely not worth all the rent the landlord was asking, but we weren’t in a position to move to a cheaper place. We had to agree to pay €1,250 a month for an Energy Label D apartment that was falling apart and was constantly cold in the winter and hot in the summer. Not a single week went by without something falling off or breaking in the house: the fridge light, baseboards, constantly clogged drains, a broken toilet lock, flickering lights throughout the house, and mold appearing all year round. In short, it was a cave disguised as an apartment.

We had just about decided to move on, back to The Hague, when we learned that Huurfix help. Polite and to the point, what Jan offered sounded like a miracle at first. We knew there were tenant-friendly laws regarding the condition of a rented apartment, but as expats, we weren’t familiar with all the legal matters in the Netherlands. Jan explained the procedure to us and took over all the relevant aspects of our case. All we had to do was sign and wait.

Two months went by, and Jan managed to get us €10,000 back. We are absolutely thrilled with the result, and now we’re planning our trip to Japan with the money we got back. Thanks to Jan, I definitely recommend this service!
