I lived in a fairly small flat in Eindhoven. Actually, I knew from the start that the rent was on the high side: €1,050 for an unfurnished home. But these days you’re just glad to find anything at all. I noticed some damage and a few problems here and there, but I let it be, because I was mostly relieved to have something. As an entrepreneur my income varies, and at the time I was still renting on my own. Whenever I talked to people about it, I always said I paid a lot of rent.

I did sometimes think about a rent reduction, but I didn’t want any hassle with the landlord. So the first time I heard about Huurfix, I did nothing with it, haha. I immediately assumed it would cost me money or cause trouble. By now I’m happy where I live, with a pleasant landlord, so really I just wanted to close that chapter. But a few weeks later I had a look at the website anyway, saw all those stories from others, and thought: well, a video call can’t hurt.

After that call, all my worries were gone. Jan said he would take care of everything and that I wouldn’t have to contact the landlord. He explained everything clearly and came across as confident. In the end my rent turned out to be far too high: it should have been almost halved, and I got the overpaid rent back. I encourage everyone to claim it back where they can. I would certainly recommend Huurfix.
