I’ve used Kamernet several times to rent a place to live. During my search, I was working full-time, so location was important, and I really wanted to be able to store my belongings in a suitable 36 m² space. In the end, I always had to weigh my options: how much was I willing to pay?

From my very first search to my final match, I found the rent prices charged by private landlords—compared to social housing from a housing authority—to be simply ridiculous. I thought it was due to the housing shortage, but I could never quite understand exactly where those prices came from or how they were calculated.
