Sterre

Around Enschede, too, it’s hard to find a rental home at an affordable price, especially if you want to live without housemates. I noticed that more was being added to the rent every year, and wondered whether that was actually right.

It struck me more and more that more money was being asked, while the living conditions weren’t all that great: draughts, so cold in winter, heating that didn’t work properly, and other defects.

I know nothing about the rules around rental housing myself. I did try looking things up, but you soon get stuck in a lot of information without really knowing what to do with it. Huurfix made that much easier and clearer, and turned it into an overview. I found Jan very reliable: he was very knowledgeable, easy to reach with questions and gave clear information. In the end my 26 m² flat got a reduced rent. I would definitely recommend this if you have doubts about the rent you’re paying. Jan takes you through the process step by step and knows a lot about it.
