Four years ago I moved into my flat. After searching for a few months, I got my rental home in Amsterdam Oud-West: an attic flat, 5 floors up. The rent went up every year, so that until recently I was paying 1300 euros for 37 m², basic rent. Together with my other fixed costs, this was really too much for me to still be able to save or go on holiday.
